Re: Euro2004 - Portugal vs England

What a game!!
That has got to be one of the best game's I've seen in a long time! So many ups and downs. Portugal dominated most of the 90 minutes but made that early mistake which gave England the edge.

It was a nail biter until Figo was substituted by Postiga who with 10 minutes left equalized the count. Rui Costa later came in with a spectacular overtime goal. This game was all about ups and downs... just when Portugal thought to be safe, England scored their own overtime goal.

I laughed hard when Beckham completely threw the ball into the crowd! Common! He has got to be one of the most over rated players around right now. He's good on TV, but when push comes to shove, he ruins it for his team. For some reason, I knew Rui Costa was gonna do the same.. and well.. he did! GRRR!

Anyway, the classic in the making moment came when Portugal's goalie, Ricardo saved the last of the 5 shots from England and then scored to take Portugal to the semi-finals! :-)

I'm going to mention a few things today....

1) The Cinderella Man - I had an awesome time working on this movie. We were playing the entrance to the ring by Jim Braddock and the champion Max Baer.
This was my first movie making experience and I gotta tell you, although I was bored to death after working 17.5 hours, it was worth it in the end. I'll be working a couple more days in July, for which I'm assuming is the end of the match.

Russel Crowe and Ron Howard were really cool to work with. They were both very passionate about their work and passed that onto all the actors.

During the filming, I managed to move around into noticeable spots. I put myself in positions that would allow me to appear on camera on almost every shot we did so I'm hoping I'll see myself on the big screen when the movie is released later this year.

2) I was at the Much Music Video Awards on Sunday. It was pretty cool, I got to see Justin Hawking from The Darkness, Hilary Duff, Avril Lavigne, Fefe Dobson, Amy from Evanescence, The Beastie Boys, Tom Green and many more celebrities just a few feet away from me. I took some pictures which I will try to post here as soon as I get the chance.
I also noticed how out of touch I am with the music scene! I must be getting old because many of the artists that were at this show I had no clue who they were! I gotta watch Much Music more often from now on.. lol

3) Well.. on my way the MMVA's, I noticed a FLIGHT CENTRE with an ad in the window: New York for $98! WoW! I had to take advantage of that. So ya, another spontaenous moment for me. The next morning I went out and bought the plane ticket and reserved a spot in the H.I. Hostel in New York. I'm finally gonna get to see the Big Apple next week! I'm also planning to go to Washington if I can find an affordable way to get there by bus or rail.
..humm.. hold on, I just noticed I'll be spending the 4th of July there! So cool! Now should I spend the 4th of July in Washington or New York?

I'll be sure to take tons of pictures in both cities just as I did with Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa... and then I'll have to call it a summer! Enough travelling for the year.. hehe.
When I get back I'm gonna go sign into the Berlitz Institute to improve my French. I can't delay this anymore! hehe....

All for now... over and out!
