Hey everybody... this is Pedro reporting from New York City!
I've had the hardest time finding a single cyber cafe in this city... its unbelievable... Anyway... I'm having an excellent time here. I finally made it to NYC. I'm at Times Square right now typing this... Ive done quite a bit of sightseeing: I walked Manhatten from Downtown all the way to Uptown... took me over 4 hours... damn this is a huge city! Ive been to Battery Park, (Sunday I'm going rollerblading to Central Park) Ive toured Broadway, had lunch around Wall Street, seen the launch of the new Coca Cola Times Squre sign (last night) with Mayor Michael Bloomberg pulling the lever. Yesterday I was at the Rose Center for Earth and Space havnig watched the spectacular Hayden Planetarium shows narrated by Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks.
I've also been to ground Zero... it's a spine chilling experience... The globe statue that was in the center of the World Trade Center square is now up at Battery Park.. the thing is all scratched and torn but it survived to remind us of that day in September 2001.
Yesterday I also checked out Rockefeller Center and the NBC studios... and even got to ride a SEGWAY (SOOO FRIGGUN COOL!).
Saturday, I'll be diong a grand tour of lower Manhatten... taking the ferry to Liberty Island to get some pics of the Statue of Liberty, I'll walk the Brooklyn Bridge to snap some skyline photos and if I have any time left in my day, I'll be sure to walk the hip n chic neighbourhoods of 5th Avenue and SoHo.
On Monday I'll be going to Washington for a day or two.
Like I mentioned.. its been near to impossible to upload my pictures to my website from here.. I managed to get these two pics online for your viewing:
Rockefeller Center:
NYPD on the beat:
I'll be sure to put all my pics online when I have a chance. Right now I'm headed to Madamme Tussaud's Wax Museum and will try to get to the top of the Empire State building to see the sunset. On my way there, I should have some time to pass by Madison Square Garden... by the way, they set up a replica of the Garden in front of The Bay (Queen Street/Eaton Centre) in Toronto... it looks so real... go check it out!
I'm off for now! Toddle-loo .. hahaha.. bye
