The Da Vinci Code

I am writing these words still in excitement, minutes after having finished reading "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown. Never have I been so enthrawled by a novel. I couldn't contain gasps and laughter as I approached the end of the story, stretched out, sleepless, on my bed.

The Da Vinci Code is a brilliant fictional story set in the real world, using real world references that the reader can look up as facts. This creates believability that adds to a fast paced nature to create a book you cannot put down.

I don't want to reveal too much of the book as to not ruin it for people still reading or thinking of reading this MUST-READ book. I will say however, that you're in for a shocking ending!

There is a snowball pace to this story... starting off slowly... then speeding up... swifting rapidly to a final climax which reveals many obvious truths.

Dan Brown clearly researched with perfectionism the components of this cryptic story and that in itself is worth reading the book. You will, throughout the novel, learn about the origins of common terms and traditions. Friday the 13th, words such as "vilain" and even "horny" are explained.

Dan Brown "hides" a message in this fiction, clearly nudging his views against a repressive Church... which so happen to be my own as well. The Da Vinci Code lays out clearly, what theories I came to develop myself in the past 10 years when I began thinking for myself about my spirituality and unallowing others to "teach" me about spirituality.

... but that my friends, is a whole different blog. I'll leave you with the recomendation to pick up a copy of "The Da Vinci Code - Special Illustrated Edition" and read it. I know I will be reading it again, perhaps many times over.

I completely agree with you, the DaVinci Code is one of the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put it down, stayed up until 4am finishing it the day I opened it.
