Chi' Ching! Lady Sovereign @ Revival

Make room for this girl! The hype sorrounding Lady Sovereign is just starting to infiltrate Toronto and yet she managed tonight to fill Revival (on College St.) to the rim with hard core fans.

I noticed Lady Sov some months back when she was blowing on to the UK scene and immediately knew she was ready to make it big. When I heard she would be @ Revival, the bar where I promote HOTcity nights with Hi-Octane Events, I had to be there.

I wasn't disappointed. I bumped into Louise (Sov's real name) and she was very approacheable. I got a picture with her.

Later we sat down on the stairs behind the stage as she waited for her cue to get on. Again, she was very down to earth and above all humble. I'm not sure if she knows how BIG she's going to make it here in Toronto and in the World in general, but she sure as hell didn't brag about it.
I got a couple of autographs and some fun pictures just before she bursted on stage.

The crowd was wild, they knew the lyrics and Lady Sovereign pulled it off flawlessly. I was a fan of her recorded music, now I'm a fan of her LIVE.

Much Music's The New Music was there to interview her and get some footage of the concert. Watch next Monday (Much Music 9.30pm) for the coverage.

Check this one out, she'll be the biggest thing by this time next year.

P.S. In my conversation with Lady Sov, I mentioned that she'll be playing the ACC (50,000 people) before she knows it. Again, she was humble about it. Well, Louise, when you read this (I handed my card to Lady Sov to check out these pics), let it be known that I'll be @ your 50,000 person full house concert to cheer you on. I'll wager that by the end of 2006, you'll be playing that concert.
